RELOCATE OR BE CRUSHED,OBIANO ORDERS CRIMINALS

Gov Willie Obiano of Anambra State has warned criminal elements operating in the state to steer clear from the state henceforth or risk being crushed by his administration.

The Governor gave the warning at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Umunnachi in Idemili North LGA during a thanksgiving mass for Mr Ifeanyichukwu Egwim, a renowned transporter who was recently rescued from the hands of a kidnap gang.

Gov Obiano said his administration since its inception has made several efforts to wipe out crime from the state and to create a socially stable environment that will make Anambra a haven for investors and investment activities.

He expressed happiness that two years after, his government has successfully rid the state of all manner of crimes, making it the safest state in the country, adding that as a result, well-to-do Ndi Anambra are now bringing their wealth home to invest. He pointed out that this was evident in the numerous Memoranda of Understanding(MOU) the State has signed with private investors across various sectors in recent times.

Chief Obiano reiterated the steps which his administration has adopted to cushion the effects of the present economic recession on the people especially through its interventions in agriculture. He urged Ndi Anambra living outside the state to come home for this year’s Christmas and new year celebrations as his administration was very committed to ensuring adequate security of lives and property during the festivities.

In his homily, the Vicar, St Anthony’s Catholic Church Parish, Nanka, Orumba North LGA, Rev Fr Bartholomew Obidigbo reminded christians that God remained the ultimate protector and is ever willing to shield his own from every plan of the devil.

He stressed the need for Christians not to detach themselves from God’s protection through leading sinful lives but to always attract God’s presence in all their undertakings.

The Celebrant, Mr Egwim while thanking God for sparing his life from the hands of men of the underworld, commended Gov Obiano for his genuine commitment towards security of lives and property. He said that this was evident in the manner in which the state’s security apparatus  galvanized to effect his rescue.
