REFUND ILLEGAL LEVIES OR RISK SACKING, ANAMBRA TELLS ERRANT PRINCIPALS

The Anambra State Government has ordered principals of public secondary schools in the state to refund illegal levies collected from students or risk being sacked.
The Chairman of the State Post-Primary Schools Services Commission, Mrs Joy Ulasi, announced this in a joint management meeting with principals of schools held at the commission’s headquarters in Awkaon Friday.
In a statement from the commission’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Felix Uzor, the commission warned that henceforth, any principal whose act would constitute sabotage to Governor Willy Obiano’s recession relief package would be removed as a school principal.
The statement read, “She directed the principals of all secondary school in the state to refund to the students any levy collected without approval letter on or before 12th October.
The PPSSC also banned principals from collecting machetes and hoes from students for three years.
