“A person she has
always liked is Michelle Obama. Over the phone, she read me some
passages of Mrs. Obama’s speech as examples. I wrote them down and later
included some of the phrasing in the draft that ultimately became the
final speech,” McIver said.
feeling terrible for failing to double-check the lines they selected against Obama’s speeches, McIver said, “This
was my mistake, and I feel terrible for the chaos I have caused Melania
and the Trumps, as well as Mrs. Obama. I meant no harm.”
It
was further reported that McIver revealed how the Trump family had
rejected her resignation, when she tendered it after the incident.
