NFF faction leader banned for 5 years
At an extra-ordinary congress on Thursday, May 12, the Disciplinary
committee of the NFF made the decision to ban Giwa for five years.

Faction leader of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Chris Giwa has been suspended from the federation by the Disciplinary committee.
Giwa has always claimed that the September, 2014 election which put current president of the NFF Amaju Pinnick in office was faulty but his case has been ruled out by FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sports.
A wrong court order sacked Pinnick as NFF boss and ruled Giwa as president. Although that order has been faulted, Giwa has insisted that he is the president of the NFF and has tried forcing himself into office.

Four others (Muazu Suleyman, Yahaya Adama, Sani Fema and Johnson Effiong) were also banned while his football club Giwa FC has been ordered to pay N3.9m in total for offences committed against the League Management Company and breach of NFF rules.
