Sylva: Court judgment vindicates our stance —APC Chair
ABUJA—Chairman, Bayelsa State chapter of All Progressives Congress,
APC,
Timipa Orunimighe, has said that Tuesday’s judgment of a Bayelsa State High Court
has vindicated the party’s decision to suspend its former governorship
candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva. According to him, the judgment also buttresses
the fact that the APC is a well structured party with laid out processes for
choosing new executives. A Bayelsa State High Court in Sagbama had granted an
ex-parte injunction, barring Joseph Fafi, the factional leader of the state APC
and his executives who are loyal to Sylva, from parading themselves as party
leaders and disrupting the activities of the authentic party executives. The
court also restrained the defendants namely Mr Joseph Fafi, Mr Tonye Okio, Mr
Fortune Parnebi and Mr Alabo Martins from “interfering or stopping the
claimants from functioning in their respective offices as Chairman, Vice Chairman
and Secretary of the APC pending the determination of the motion on notice.”
