Iraq car bomb: At least 24 killed, dozens injured

(CNN)ISIS claimed responsibility for a car bomb that police said killed at least 24 people and wounded dozens more east of Baghdad Saturday.

The bomb, which was in a parked car, targeted a busy livestock market in Nahrawan town, police said. Thirty eight others were hurt.

The claim of responsibility was issued via the Amaq Agency, which is run by ISIS.

Isis agency: "around 100" killed and injured

The Amaq Agency said "around 100" people had been either killed or injured in the blast. The bomb targeted Shiites, the agency said. ISIS is a Sunni group.

Sectarian violence has run rife in the country, pitting Sunis and Shias against each another, with the Kurds gaining a measure of autonomy in the north of the country
