Nigeria Police apprehends illegal tax collectors in Anambra

 

 

 

 

A group of about 20 men have been arrested over suspicions of acting in the capacity of tax collectors without proper authorisation.

The Ocha Brigade teamed with joint task force in Anambra state, stormed Agulu, Ekwulobia, Uga on Monday, September 12, in the fight to put an end to illegal tax collection.

The team successfully arrested over 20 men from different walks of life and various ages who now face harassment, extortion and illegal revenue collection charges

The culprits are currently in police custody as further investigations are carried out after which they would be arraigned before the court of law for their crimes.
